Woodland Hills Sanitary District

June 2020 Minutes

 

The June meeting of the Woodland Hills Sanitary District board was called to order at 6:47pm on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. 

 

Roll Call: Vice-President Garry Colasardo established that a quorum existed to conduct the meeting.  In attendance were Lois Lund, Ed Striebel  (Clearwater Consulting) and board members Jim Stewart and Peggy Severson.  John Knight and Bobby Sadler were away.

 

Adoption of Agenda: Garry presented the agenda to the board and it was unanimously adopted.

 

Secretary’s Report: The May minutes were reviewed and unanimously approved. 

 

Income Report:

 

For May:

Net income was $4,982

Gallons pumped  were 492,117 - 25% loss.

Gallons pumped a year ago  381,571 - 15% loss

Gallons pumped ten years ago: 1,224,600 - 63% loss

 

Water Report:  Mike from the South Dakota Rural Water Association was in the subdivision on June 8 and worked with Ed to isolate a suspected leak on the main line near 8705 Lark Lane.  Ed estimates the leak is around 2.3 gallons per minute or roughly 100,000 gallons per month.  Repairs are expected to start on June 16.

 

Road Report: The road district received a tax deposit of $4,451 and the account has a balance of $27,219.

 

Old Business:  There were no nominating petitions received for the two vacancies on the board.  Garry and Jim eagerly volunteered to stay on the board for another three years of fun.

 

New Business: A date of August 30 was selected for the annual picnic.  Lois suggested that we inspect out district buildings for hail damage.  Jim will have a contractor check the buildings on Saturday June 13.

 

Board member comments:  None.

 

Resident comments:  After the meeting Jim and Gary Hansen chatted over the phone about talking to B&H Asphalt about millings for a portion of Lark Lane.   Gary has a trailer that could transport the material and might have access to some equipment to spread the millings.  Jim will email B&H.

 

The board adjourned the meeting at 7:17pm.
