Water
Report: The major expense for the
past month was replacing the variable frequency drives (VFD) for both well
pumps. A VFD is an adjustable speed
control for the well pump electric motors.
Rather than running pumps at a continuous, fixed maximum speed, the VFD
automatically regulates the motor's power to match actual system demand. This precise control will significantly
reduce energy consumption, minimize mechanical wear and tear, and extend the
operational lifespan of our pumping infrastructure. The VFD were
initially installed back in 2008 and had reached end-of-life. The back up well was tested and ran

Business: The
board discussed water rates. The base
charge has remained unchanged since 2020 when it was set to $38.50. If adjusted for inflation the base charge
would be $49.50. The board voted 3-0 to
split the difference and the new base charge will be $45 beginning with July's
bill. The per/gallon
charge will remain unchanged. The board
also voted 3-0 to raise late fees from $5 per month to $10 per month for 30
days past due and $20 per month over 30 days.
Road
Report: $7,059.33 were received
in tax deposits. Jim Stewart replaced
the missing stop sign at
