Woodland Hills Sanitary
District
September 2016 Minutes
The
September meeting of the Woodland Hills Sanitary District was called to order
at 6:32PM. In attendance were: Randy Alexander, Evan Hutchings, Carol Crozman,
Beth Haivala, Bobby Sadler and Ed Striebel. Lois Lund was not present.
Secretary’s
Report: Randy asked if everyone had received and
read the August minutes. There were no
changes to be made. Evan made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by
Randy and approved 5-0.
Income
Report: Total water income for August was $8513.05.
We had a net income of $5255.29 and a total water loss of 4.8%. Although Lois
was absent from the meeting, she left detailed notes for the month. There was
not a lot of activity this month, normal expenses including the final bill from
Sanders for the dumpster and also the picnic expenses. She noted that there
were 5 past due accounts. Two paid in full this month, 2 made partial payments
and 1 is still past due. She included a letter to the 1 account that is 4 months
overdue. She will send a certified letter upon approval. She also will send out
a letter to the accounts that made partial payments upon approval. Carol made a
motion to approve sending letters to all over- due accounts, seconded by Evan
and approved 5-0.
The
district received a hail insurance settlement in the amount of $6519.22. The
roofing on all of the buildings will be replaced.
Randy
made a motion to approve the income report, seconded by Beth and approved 5-0.
Water
and Project Report: Ed reported that a water
sample from Well #1 has been submitted for testing. The testing is for RAD
(Radiological Chemical). This is only precautionary in case we need to rely on
this well for longer than a couple of weeks at a time.
The
tank level indicator is in and working.
The painting of the tanks on Lark is running late...they were primed on
September 14.
Pump
House #2 has been finished. Ed discovered that we need to have a low level
indicator installed that will tell us when the high level tanks are low. Scada
has been authorized and Dakota Pump has been notified.
The
upper level tanks have been buried and they will be connected between Sept. 14
to the 23rd.
Ed
replaced 1 homeowner’s meter because it was not recording gallons.
Carol
made a motion to approve the water and project report, seconded by Randy and
approved 5-0.
Road
Report: There was no road income this month. An
application has been received to apply for the 2016 tax assessment. There will
be no increase in the amount that we can request over last year. The district
received a letter from the Meade County Highway Department about the 5 year
plan for county roads. They are planning a chip and seal on Peaceful Pines in
2020.
Evan
