WOODLAND HILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING
December 9, 2009
President Gary
Hansen brought the meeting to order at 6:30pm.
Attending were Gary Hansen, Carol Crozman, Jim Stewart, Randy Alexander,
Lois Lund and Ed Striebel.
Secretary's
Report: Jim read the minutes from the November
meeting. Jim motioned to accept the
minutes with a 2nd by Carol.
Income
Statement: Lois presented the income statement. We had a net income of $637.
There is slightly
over $40,000 in our money market account that is earning about $21 a month in
interest. More about that in New
Business. A motion was made to accept
the income statement by Gary, 2nd by Jim.
Water Report: Ed presented
the water report. Water losses were at
29 percent which is about the best to be hoped for given that we have three
ongoing leaks. One is on the main line
along Chickadee Lane and it cannot be isolated. Another is on the main along Woodland Dr between Chickadee and
Bluebird. The third is on the main
above Junco Lane. Other than there was
no activity on the water system. Jim
made a motion to accept the water report with a 2nd by Gary.
Old Business: The board
discussed the proposals from CETEC and FourFront for the engineering
study. Jim made a motion to select
CETEC to perform the study with a 2nd by Carol. The board voted 4-0 to pass the motion
New
Business: Terry Nelson presented investment options. The board has always elected to invest in
CD’s. A three month CD has an interest
rate of 0.5% while a 30 year CD pays 4.75.
The board decided to invest $20,000 of the $40,000 in our money market
account. Any of the CD’s can be “cashed
in’ early without penalty.
The next board
meeting will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 6:30pm.
Meeting adjourned
at 7:21pm
Submitted by Jim
Stewart, Recording Secretary.
