WOODLAND HILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING

August 12, 2009

President Gary Hansen brought the meeting to order at 6:35pm.  Attending were Gary Hansen, Carol Crozman, Terry Nelson, Jim Stewart, Randy Alexander, Lois Lund and Ed Striebel.

Secretary's Report:  Jim read the minutes from the July meeting.  A couple of typos were corrected in the July minutes.  Jim made a motion to accept the minutes with the changes      with a 2nd by Carol.

Income Statement:  Lois presented the income statement.  There was net loss of $3 for the month of July.  A motion was made to accept the income statement by Gary, 2nd by Jim.

Water Report:  Ed presented the water report.  Water losses for July were down to 37 percent.  Not since October of 2008 have losses been that low.  The well pump time was also down in July.  The board went ahead and put a better temporary path on Woodland Land where the repair had been performed earlier.  There was a misunderstanding between the WHCA and the Woodland Hills Road District as to when the road district would be patching Woodland Drive.

Ed will meet with CTEC in late August and with Forefront to discuss the preparation of an engineering study for the water system.   Then CTEC and Forefront will present their suggestions/plans to the WHCA board either at a regular monthly meeting or in a special meeting called for the occasion.   The board had a discussion whether to perform any system overhaul in stages or get the financing and do the project at all once.  The consensus was that performing the project all at once would be most cost effective but the engineering study and cost estimates would be the guideline.  If the project was done all at once it would be possible to coordinate with the CATV companies and allow them to use the trench to lay or upgrade cable to the subdivision.

A motion to accept the water report was made by Jim with a 2nd by Gary.

Old Business:  None.

New Business: Terry informed that board that he must step down.  Terry’s position with RBC Wealth Management precludes him from serving on the WHCA board since WHCA has a number of investments with RBC.  Terry’s term expires in April 2011 and a search for a replacement will commence.

The next board meeting will be September 8th at 6:30pm.

Meeting adjourned at 7:41

Submitted by Jim Stewart, Recording Secretary.
