WOODLAND HILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION BOARD MEETING

May 6, 2009

 

 

Gary Hansen brought the meeting to order at 6:35pm.  Attending were Gary Hansen, Carol Crozman, Terry Nelson, Lois Lund and Ed Striebel.

 

In the event of two board members resignations: President Loren Stanley and Secretary Jim Stewart, a motion was made by Terry to make Gary Hansen acting president, 2nd by Carol.  Gary read the letters of resignation from both board members.   Gary then made a motion to defer the election of officers until two new board members have been appointed.  2nd by Carol.

 

 

Secretary's Report:

Minutes of the April meeting were not available and will be read at the June meeting.

 

Income Statement by Lois Lund     

Two accounts are unpaid but at least one was expected to be paid in the next couple of days.  Water sales are typical.  A motion to accept was made by Gary.

 

Water Report by Ed Streibel

Water losses are estimated at 70%.  SD Rural Water truck will be in our area sometime in June.  Will be able to evaluate the possible location of leaks in our water system.  Ed stressed the importance of having an engineering study done that would evaluate our entire water system and there is grant money available.  The board will revisit the CTEC report that done in March when a full board is available for discussion.  Ed read his letter of resignation but will not submit it until there someone to replace him.  He stressed to the board that they find someone in the development who has the time to baby the water system along more definitive decisions can be made.   Gary motioned to accept the water report.

 

Old Business:

New Business:

They are two openings on the board.   The board accepted the resignations of Loren Stanley and Jim Stewart.  There will be a notification put in the community mailbox about the need for volunteers on the board.  Bill Craft, who was in attendance volunteered to help spread the word.  Distribution of a current neighborhood phone list was brought up.   Greg Klatte, who was in attendance, submitted information from Sage Water Works regarding the water system.
