WOODLAND HILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

BOARD MEETING MINUTES for Aug 8, 2006

President Jim Stewart brought the meeting to order at 6:30pm.  Attending were Jim, Kathy Colasardo, Loren Stanley, Ev Hutchings, Lois Lund & Ed Streibel.

Secretary’s Report

Kathy read the minutes from July’s meeting.  A motion to accept by Jim, 2nd by Ev.  Minutes passed.

Income Statement

Antler Enterprise bill for the repairs at Hilton’s & George’s.  George’s to reimburse WHCA for their share of the expense.  Knight’s moved out leaving us with a balance due of $186.  We will turn the water off & collect from the owner or the realtor plus the re-hookup fee.  Kathy made a motion to accept, Ev 2nd.

Water System Report

An un-metered hydrant was discovered during the process of fixing leaks.  The owner was told that it needs a meter or remove it.  It was removed.   If anyone else happens to have an un-metered hydrant, we need to know!!   Three pretty big leaks were fixed in the last couple of months; the hours on the booster pump went down significantly.  Our losses are the lowest they’ve been in over a year - 33%.  Chlorine pump broke & had a backup to use.  We will send the other one in for repairs.  Pumps have been working hard & there is a lot of sand in the sand trap in the wellhouse.  We need to look more into the issue of the sand.  It is very hard on pumps & that could be a major expense if the pump breaks.  Jim motioned to accept, 2nd by Kathy.

Old Business

After some discussion & input from some concerned residents of Woodland Hills, a vote was taken not to grant the additional water rights for the 10 acre lot on Tanager. The vote was 5-0.

New Business

We are considering freezing anymore granting of additional water rights. Some research needs to be done to see how many we have and then an amendment would need to be done to the water policy.

Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy A. Colasardo
